ANTIBIOTIC SERVICES AT INFUSION SOLUTIONS

Infusion Solutions of Delaware provides Outpatient Antibiotic Therapy for patients with a variety of infections including osteomyelitis (bone infections), septic arthritis (joint infections), diabetic foot infections, infections caused by common bacteria such as Staphylococcus and Streptococcus, Lyme disease, and Bloodstream infections.

Patients will be given their daily dose of antibiotic in our comfortable infusion suite, seven days a week, under close supervision of our registered nurses. Typical antibiotic infusion lasts about 30-60 minutes. In addition to antibiotic infusion, wound dressing changes can be done at the same visit when appropriate.

BIOLOGIC THERAPY

Treatment for a variety of rheumatologic diseases (Rheumatoid Arthritis, Ankylosing Spondylitis, Psoriatic Arthritis), gastrointestinal disorders (Crohn's disease, Ulcerative Colitis), and skin diseases (Psoriasis) is offered. Typically drugs are infused over one-half to 2 hours every 4-8 weeks starting at 7:30 AM. Late afternoon infusions are offered and in the future weekend therapy may be an option. Drugs infused include: Infliximab (remicade), Abatacept (Orencia) and Rituximab (Rituxan).

OSTEOPOROSIS TREATMENT

Intravenous ibandronate (Boniva) is offered as an alternative to oral agents for patients with osteoporosis. Treatments are given every three months and take less than five minutes.

Reclast® (Zoledronic acid) recently became the second IV bisphosphonate FDA approved for the treatment of osteoporosis.  Treatments are given annually.
